Amazon Appstore... Venezia?
In the last hour, the top installed app on AppAware is Amazon Appstore: the highly rumored application-portal developed by Amazon.
Is it under test? We still do not know, but AppAware was able to get it first!

AppAware working normally again
Providing real-time insights about the Android Market is not easy, and in the last hour (between 14:00 and 15:00 CET) we had some issues with our databases.
We managed to fix the problem and now AppAware is working normally again!

Google's Nexus S is fully capable of all NFC...
When Google introduced its Nexus S initially the API only allowed to read NFC tags. Just a few days ago this was also extended to also writing data to tags.

A good Android phone for 100 bucks! →
Some server problems last night...
Last night (UTC +1) AppAware servers encountered some problems and had difficulties in serving the website pages and Android mobile services (in particular Top applications). This morning we solved the issues and now the services are up and running as usual!

Even more fragmentation!
“The Android 3.0 platform introduces many new and exciting features for users and developers”, this is what Google says here! To us it looks just as as adding additional fragmentation in the Android ecosystem, thus additional pain for developers. Will Google also offer a 2x zoom as Apple did for the iPad and iPhone apps?
Installation behavior vs. User ratings of apps
We’ve compared the installation behavior of users traced by appaware with user ratings of apps on the market. Whereas only 1%-5% of users of an app release a rating, tracing events of the 55k Android users can yield more accurate ratings, also not being skewed 3.5 as ratings on the Android market.
